About the event
With ample space on our 40 acres, and schools shut down due to fears of coronavirus, there is no better place to host athlete S&C than The Ranch Personal Training. My plan is for this to run three times a week starting the day after memorial day, May 26, Â through July 1, the date (at the time of writing this) when schools will be allowed to hold sessions. This will allow all those athletes to start making progress again, instead of regressing and starting their fall season's preparation behind schedule. Time and Dates will be determined by those attending, so that the most amount of kids can make it.Â
During the 1.5 hour workout, expect to work on the following:Â
Strength/power: squats, push press, deadlift, upperbody presses and pulls
Sprints: 10-40m sprints, technique, warming up for sprints, plyometrics
Agility: acceleration, deceleration, change of direction, plyometrics (yes, I do know that plyos are in sprints as well)Â
Conditioning: every workout would work on a specific energy system at some point, i.e. phosphate, glycolytic, aerobic
We have the usual equipment, like cones and jump ropes, but also tires, sledgehammers, prowlers, and all kinds of heavy natural implements and big hills as well as traditional strength training equipment to assist in having an enjoyable, not-so-miserable training experience!Â
80% of the session will be outdoors, so there'll be little opportunity for community transmission of a virus! This also means the schedule is weather permitting. If we can't get 75% of our sessions in due to weather only, there will be a partial refund.
If you missed the first sessions, no worries! We can prorate the remainder of the sessions.Â
Cost is $109/person. Everyone who RSVPs will be asked what times work and talk logistics. If too many people sign up, we can break it into two groups for safety purposes.
